Moving a page takes its comments with it

Moving a page — from the node menu or with the move command — used to destroy everything attached to it. The comments people had left, the discussion threads, approvals, tracked changes, and the permissions that had been granted on it: all of them were deleted, at the old location and the new one alike. Nothing warned about it, and the move reported success. The item arrived at its new home looking intact, with its history quietly gone, and nothing could bring it back.

That went for the whole folder, too: everything attached to anything underneath the item you moved was destroyed the same way.

Moving something now takes all of it. A page arrives at its new location with its comments still on it, its discussions still readable, and still open to the people it was shared with — and so does everything filed under it.

And when a move genuinely cannot carry the whole thing — a folder holding something you are not allowed to see, for instance — it now stops and tells you exactly what it could not take, leaving the original exactly where it was. A move that cannot be completed is no longer a move that quietly throws part of it away.
